The Remedy by Serena Chase

My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Goodreads Summary
Having come to terms with her long-hidden identity, Princess Rynnaia E’veri is ready to take her rightful place. But before she can join her father at Castle Rynwyk, she must endeavor to fulfill a 200-year-old prophecy and defeat the Kingdom’s ancient enemy, the Cobelds. Joined by her faithful knight, Sir Julien de Gladiel, and a gifted group of friends, Rynnaia must trek a dangerous path through canyons, forests, and into the very depths of a mountain where, if the prophetic scrolls prove correct, she will face an unknown foe, alone. Treacheries will be discovered, sacrifices will be made, friends will be lost, and love will be tested, but if even one line of the riddled prophecy is misinterpreted, Rynnaia will fail . . . and the Kingdom will fall.

Beginning at the point THE RYN ended, THE REMEDY concludes an epic re-imagining of the classic Grimm fairy tale, SNOW WHITE & ROSE RED. But the Eyes of E'veria series is only beginning . . .

My Review
Eyes of E'veria is definitely one of my favorite series! I love it, and it's amazing! Now, if you keep reading I'll tell you why.

First things first. I appreciated that The Remedy takes up exactly where book one, The Ryn, left off. Often, books in a series will skip a little bit of time, and that can really drive me nuts sometimes, because well, I like to know everything about my favorite characters! And of course, just like with The Ryn, Serena Chase's writing style quickly drew me right into the world of E'veria and the lives of Rynnaia, Julien, and her friends. It was beautiful, descriptive, and enchanting.

Of course I can't forget the amazing characters and fantastic journey!

Rynnaia continues on her journey to find the remedy and save her mother and her entire kingdom from the evil Cobelds curse. She is the chosen one, but what I appreciated most about her was that she wasn't perfect. She made mistakes and didn't always know the best course of action, she didn't have all of the answers. Instead of becoming discouraged, she didn't give up and learned from her mistakes, relying on God and her loyal friends to lead her, yet still having the authority to take charge. She was so relateable, inspiring, and strong, and all together one of my all time favorite heroines.

Julien is pretty much amazing. He is unfailingly loyal, constant, and faithful. He is that steady ray that holds things together, and the perfect counterpart to Rynnaia, trying to keep her from jumping into dangerous situations head first. Their courtship was so creative and sweet, and I loved how they tried to work things out through all of the ups and downs that were thrown their way - that is the perfect example of a true relationship.

Erielle, Cazien, Rowlen, Kinley, Rozen, and so many of the other characters made their way into my heart as well! With their undying loyalty, determination, faith, intelligence, and individual personalities, they are all a fantastic team, a force to be reckoned with, and the truest of friends.

There is so much awesome, page turning, action in this book! I couldn't put it down (but unfortunately I was unwillingly forced to because I had homework, work, and such, but seriously all I wanted to do was sit down and finish this book)! There are many surprising turns and twists, shocking discoveries, and just pure fun moments! There is the serious danger of cursed beards, cursed flying arrows, ever looming possibility of the loss of loved ones, oxygenless underwater passageways to traverse, and so much more, all balanced with the witty personalities and fun Andoven nature! There is also more intriguing E'verian culture to learn about as Rynnaia learns more about her kindgom and prepares to take her rightful place alongside her father. There are emotion provoking moments of happiness, faith, love, joy, loss, pain, fear, betrayal, and more.

Trust me, you do not want to miss another moment before reading this book, I promise you'll love it (just read The Ryn first)! Everything was so well done, and played out so beautifully. I couldn't have asked for a better, more heart pounding sequel!

I can not wait to read The Seahorse Legacy and discover what's up between Erielle and Cazien - so curious!

Now, breathe. I need to stop fangirling before I spoil something!

I received a free copy of this book. This in no way affected my opinions, and all thoughts and opinions are solely my own.
