Readers met the Woodcutter sisters (named after the days of the week) in Enchanted and Hero. In this delightful third book, Alethea Kontis weaves together some fine-feathered fairy tales to focus on Friday Woodcutter, the kind and loving seamstress. When Friday stumbles upon seven sleeping brothers in her sister Sunday's palace, she takes one look at Tristan and knows he's her future. But the brothers are cursed to be swans by day. Can Friday's unique magic somehow break the spell?

My Review
4.5 Stars
Like Enchanted and Hero, stepping into Dearest was like stepping into a realm of magic with characters who have a fate and destiny all their own!
I love them all, but Dearest just might be my favorite book of this series. Dearest was full of so many delightful, unique characters that come to life as soon as they were introduced. From the sisters and characters met in the previous books to new friends, Alethea Kontis develops them with exceptional skill!
Friday was such a relateable character. Almost too kind to be real, but realistic all the same. She had such an abounding kindness, grace, and personality that characters and readers alike just can't help but like her. With a heart of pure gold, Friday took care of "an army of children," staying in the kindgdom of Arriland, taken over by her sister, Saturday's, ocean. She is determined to find the silver linings, be a shining light, and help all she can. Even when she is led to the seven cursed brothers, swan by day men by knight, and mute sister in the tower of Princess Sunday's castle, she is not to be defeated no matter what may arise.
Each of the seven brothers had a distinct personality, and I really enjoyed getting to know them. From Tristan and Friday's bond, to Francoise's love of books, to Sebastians swan Odette, Phillipe's brooding, and the twins, they all stood out in their own way. Elise, the sister forced into silence was an interesting character, and one that was also inspiring to watch. She was so full of life, yet she was unable to communicate with the ones she loved. The children and citizens of Arilland also work their way into the hearts of the reader in a way that only children can! I work with children a lot, and I must say that Friday's patience and pure, constant kindness would come in very handy around them!
One of the things I love most about this series, and this book is the sense of destiny and fate that Alethea Kontis always seems to weave into her stories so seamlessly. Though her characters might not always be keen on accepting their fate, or know how to fulfill their destiny, it always presents itself with intrigue and an entertaining adventure to go along with it! Destiny must be embraced, and fate isn't up to you!
The journey that Dearest takes readers on is more than I can put into words without spoiling at least one discovery. I will say that this book is perfect for those that enjoy a story that will inspire and enchant! There is beautiful love, heart pounding action, fantasy and flying, magic and sorcery, destiny and fate, kindness and curses, and a little something for everyone!
I recieved a copy of this book in exchange of an honest review. This in no way affected my opinions, and all thoughts and opinions are solely my own.
