Twas the Night Before Christmas

Twas the night before Christmas
And all through my mind
Visions of Jesus Christ born in a manger, dance in my head.

The angels warned Mary and Joseph
They would have God's child.

Mary and Joseph traveled to Bethlehem,
And knocked on inn doors,
At the thrice they were told they could stay in the stable.

Baby Jesus was born among the donkeys, sheep, and cows
Placed in a manger to appear to the world.
The angels appeared to the shepherds,
and they were sent on their way.

They, along with the wisemen bearing selfless gifts,
followed the star God placed to show them the way.

For God sent baby Jesus to earth to show us his love,
and the Heavenly host of angels sang songs from above.

Now we all share the good news,
spreading love and great joy.
For our Savior was born that night,
and it is a celebration not meant to be out of sight.

Merry Christmas to all,
and to all a good night.

(P.S. The wisemen didn't show up until about two years later).
