Better off Friends by Elizabeth Eulberg

Better off FriendsBetter off Friends by Elizabeth Eulberg

My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Better off Friends Goodreads Summary
For Macallan and Levi, it was friends at first sight. Everyone says guys and girls can’t be just friends, but these two are. They hang out after school, share tons of inside jokes, their families are super close, and Levi even starts dating one of Macallan’s friends. They are platonic and happy that way.

Eventually they realize they’re best friends — which wouldn’t be so bad if they didn’t keep getting in each other’s way. Guys won’t ask Macallan out because they think she’s with Levi, and Levi spends too much time joking around with Macallan, and maybe not enough time with his date. They can’t help but wonder . . . are they more than friends or are they better off without making it even more complicated?

From romantic comedy superstar Elizabeth Eulberg comes a fresh, fun examination of a question for the ages: Can guys and girls ever really be just friends? Or are they always one fight away from not speaking again — and one kiss away from true love?

My Review
Blimey if I've ever read a better story about a girl being best friends with a guy (if you've read the book you'll get that this is from the TV show that Macallan and Levi loved to watch, and they had the cutest quoting from it and everything)!

So, if you hadn't figured it out by now, I really enjoyed Better Off Friends! It was one of my favorite guy girl relationship stories, and very realistic - I could definitely see something like it happening in real life with real people. I always love guy-girl friendships that might become more!

From the moment Levi and Macallan first became friends I was rooting for them. When they first met Macallan was not in the mood for making friends, but that all changed with the discovery that he also loved her favorite show - Buggy and Floyd. Then started a wonderful and life changing friendship with inside jokes, where Macallan was able to really talk about her mom to someone for the first time, and Levi had a best friend from the start in his new town. They could talk about anything to each other and felt comfortable around each other.

Until they started having feelings for each other, that is. Then came the awkwardness, avoidance, drama, and all that comes with falling in love with your best friend. Not everything was sunshine and rainbows! I found it all very believable and rooted for them the entire time. I understood how they felt and the reasons they felt that way. This book had me smiling and saying aww! Levi was such a great guy and amazing best friend! Are they meant to be best friends? Or something more?

Overall, anyone who likes a sweet believable story about two best friends should definitely read this. Be prepared for the Levi and Macallan show - it's adorable!
